So that's a quote from another book I'm currently reading, to keep myself occupied from watching too much TV, like For Love or for Money, Survival, CSI, etc.

Here's a little breakdown - Loneliness unfortunately breeds self-absorption and self-centredness. To break away from this, stop thinking about yourself and show some interest in other people - the mistake that lonely people often make is in believing that somehow they have to get people interested in them.

So I keep scrolling thru my mobile phone's long contact list these days. LOL

Wanna catch a movie together?

That's the one question, I had been asking my friends recently and most of them would reply that they already did - alone. And that have always puzzled me.

Then last week a friend managed to get me a preview ticket, a few minutes before screening, for Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. So I found myself watching a movie alone (check my post on Oct 11 for the review).
Ok, free movies are always a welcomed distraction. I don't mind the last minute notice too, adds a little rush to the excitement of watching a preview movie - for free.

So from now on, for a leisure activity that requires virtually no social interaction, I shall attemp to liberate myself and watch all the movies I like - alone.

This decision shall be a valiant step towards personal evolution.

Forever doesn't last ... again

All things would come to pass.
It's sad and yet comforting to find distraction from people around.

Height gossip

It’s been mentioned that XiaXue of xiaxue.blogspot.com is vertically challenged. But there was never really anything in her photos to get a scale of measurement to her height, until her entry on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 - check out the picture of XiaXue a.k.a Wendy standing beside Diana Ser. Having met Diana before, I had the chance to have visual confirmation of how tall Diana really is … Oh well, not everyone is born equal - not that i have anything against shorter people, but it's just that I have been quite intrique by XiaXue and finds this a refreshing distraction, to finally be able to have a scale of measurement to her height, now to find other distractions to take this off my mind, tsk tsk...

The days a drag...

… it was Tuesday, 21st September.

Consider this possibility, one recent death at 52.

All things considered I am putting a guess my life would end approx. somewhere between 52 - 66 … given that the current world does not seem to have a lot of elderly beyond the age of 84 … what are the chances that one would die instantaneously, as in, drop dead (age not-withstanding) within the minute, rather high these days. If you dont believe me, you can jump out the window to prove my point, or for that matter go hop in front of an in-coming MRT train.

There have been a few ad spots on TV recently to highlight that people with symptoms of depressing should seek professional help by calling a number. Might have something to do with the high number of deaths in the previous months from people hopping in front of in-coming trains. What bugs me is, why would someone who’s most likely depressed be concious enough to remember to call a number flashed on TV to get professional help, when they are already looking out for an in-coming train. Making me depressed - screwit! I will sleep on this one.

Here and now

The one major event in my life would be affecting me in more ways than I care to think.

Life would always spring surprises, yet I envy those who stay by each other's side through the difficult times. For their beliefs in love, loyalty and care for each other.

Mooovie review

Popped into Jade2 @ Beach Road tonight to catch Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. It was really a last minute thingy when a friend SMSed me at 6pm, that he had one spare tix to tonight’s screening at 7.30pm so I rushed down to the cinema, immediately after the ending of a non-stop 3 hour interview, hoping to get some downtime.

The movie in entirety was presented with a very vintage feel throughout, sadly, so was the storyline. Basically this movie is nothing but eye-candy.

So for those of you who have yearned and longed for a movie with the vintage Casablanca (1942) feel, this movie is for you (without the soul, i.e. storyline).

I had a lot of trouble keeping my eyes open for most part of the movie, especially when there was dialogue, which does not do much to help anyone understand the characters or the story (or lack of one) any better.

As an afterthought, this is really a very commercialised film and would benefit very much from diverse merchandising - action figures with multiple clothing set, a few dozen robot variants, planes, you get the picture.

But I must say, they did a really good job with the movie’s website, all the promo materials, posters and movie trailers.

Upon a quick flip of the book, I am intriqued by a subheader that reads Build up a tolerance for pain and a few pages away Beware the dangers of luxury. These sure got my attention, will have to put time aside to dig into the book.
