Hayward embraces feng shui

Hayward was the city I first stayed in, when I first relocated to California for work, it was a quiet suburban-like place and it had it's charms. There's so much that I miss.

A recent piece of news off the tabloids ~
Developers in the California city of Hayward are citing feng shui as one reason for wanting a new system of home address numbering.

Since the 1950s, the county of Alameda, which includes Hayward and cities like Berkeley and Oakland in San Francisco's Bay Area, has assigned numbers based on how far the homes are from downtown Oakland.

This puts five digits to many adresses and increases the odds that a home will carry a number considered unlucky by feng shui practitioners, reported AP.

Last week, city council members agreed to let the builders of an upscale housing development use fewer digits.

The builders cited convenience concerns as well as the potential for violating feng shui precepts, said city officials.

But there are more down-to-earth reasons, too.

The new development's spokesman said that the request had more to do with getting numbers that everyone could remember, rather than any particular philosophy.

And, added city official Sylvia Ehrenthal: ''Addresses with one or two numbers or three numbers seem a little classier.''

Anyhoo, here's wishing you good feng shui for the year ahead and best of luck.

Signs of Delirium

Yup, the dog's showing sign of delirium.
It's rather infectious, like a yawn.

The Sixth Day

The days immediately after Christmas leading up to the last day of the year gives a weird mix of emotions, a combination of euphoria, anxiety and anticipation. Sprinkled with a wee bit of delirious delirium.

Here's a phrase (for the New Year) for those who wish to boldy go where others seemed to have lead the way.
"The hardest thing is loving someone and then having the courage to let them love you back."

Finally got the comments up & enabled again, for your fancy.

Brown Brothers

The Tarrango (red wine by Brown Brothers) is not as good as it sounds. At least not what I had expected it to be. If you're looking for a sweet desert wine, it'd be best to go with Moscato, (white wine, there's 2 by Brown Brothers) the fragrance from the wine would be overwhelmingly sweet.

Silent night

Christmas came and went, and all is well and peaceful; it was great.

Joy, happiness, surprises and all things merry; changes and new experiences were abundent.

Found a new church to attend and Christmas Mass at midnight was quite an experience.

On Christmas day.
Managed to whip up something in the kitchen that I'm quite proud of, this is the first time EVER that I'd use the kitchen to cook *LOL* and even then, sausages & eggs or pasta with bottled bolognese is not what I call cooking... Anyhoo I finally created my first 2 dinner dishes managed to cook something, totally without receipe; purely based on concept *LOL*. So yes, it was quite a moment when friends actually commented liking the dish. On hindsight it was quite a risk I took, doing up something I'm not too sure might turn out good and on top of that, serving it for consumption. Oh well, no risk no gain.

I now have a new found respect for Garlic.
Only in moderation.
As is mostly labelled on all food items, just look closely.

Third day of Christmas up next.
Feliz Navidad!

Smashing!

Well I just keep outdoing myself *LOL*

In preparation for this coming Christmas I've totally revamped my place again, since I last clean it up.
Even I get a refreshing surprise everytime I step into the living room, especially after a day out.

One word ~ Refreshing!

Now I've got lots of natural lights flooding in to light up the whole place making it (the living room) feel so much more spacious that it already is. I've also finally decided to release some of my heavily guarded collection of photos into large prints for decorating my walls.

And I'm holding my first ever Christmas party *GASP*
So exciting.

I'm gonna be regreting this later... *LOL*

Ministry of Sound

Dropped by the pre-opening of Ministry of Sound at Clarke Quay tonight, to check out the place and the decor. It's definitely a fresh addition and alternative to the local clubbing scene.

On the inside it's spacious, and is much larger (40,000 sq ft) in terms of land space compared Zouk. And supposedly the biggest worldwide too, as stated on their website.

Anyhoo, housed within are 3 separate themed erm dance floor, there's the main dance floor that's MoS, there's the very 70's disco inspired 54, loved the bright colours and retro getup of the whole place, complete with lots of mirror globes hanging above the multi coloured square dance floor. Lastly, an all white lounge room called Pure. Both 54 and Pure are on the second upper level, Pure is hidden behind a wall panel door that you can hardly see in the dark.

The long long queue of people waiting to get in just goes to show the drawing popularity of the MoS. Won't mind coming back again...

Determination

Having determination and lots of confidence do get you what you want, most of the time.
It great being reminded that there are things, still within our grasps, when we put our mind to it.

Affirmation is a good feeling, almost as good as adrenaline.
