Makeup for Men

If Jean Paul Gaultier had his way, drag queens wouldn’t be the only men to wear makeup regularly. The designer has launched Le Male Tout Beau, a way-beyond-metrosexual collection of tinted lip balms, bronzer powder and other cosmetics for guys. Which is set to take pride of place in every ardent metrosexual's bathroom.

And if regular guys do start embracing Gaultier's cosmetic vision as well, we'd all be seeing lotsa “Pirates of the Caribbean” Johnny Depp lookalikes. *ewwww*

Looking over at the recent Golden Globe's red carpet event, I see a few of my favourite actresses - Natalie Portman, Claire Danes, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Garner... hmmm quite a few more...

Can't say much for Natalie's and Claire's choices of designer wear though (but Claire's sleek blonde tresses is nice with a polished and uptown look) :P

The only exception would be the elegant midnight-blue silk and satin Christian Dior couture empress gown by John Galliano on Charlize, and also Jennifer's sizzling attention-grabbing red vintage Valentino gown.

Other great designers I noticed, Carolina Herrera's sleek dress on Renee Zellweger have that demure vintage elegance look (pic not here). Also Vera Wang's soft rose satin gown on, best actress for drama series, Mariska Hargitay looking perfectly elegant. Finally, on Teri Hatcher the winner of best actress in a comedy series, a silver and satiny Donna Karan halter gown. Fantastic use of fabric and mix, elegant and stunning.

I should have gone into fashion when I was younger, but then again I liked it too much to turn it into a job :P
