Did you find gratification?
I'm sure not many would openly say it out loud, but people just seem so drawn towards the siren song of corporate achievement. I am sure part of the excitement is in reaching the goal, but is the corporate rat race the only way to gain gratification? While many relish in their never ending climb towards corporate achievement, I'm standing firm that it is not the only way towards personal satisfaction.
Perhaps the current younger generation of Japanese is not that far wrong, afterall they'd seen their hard-working parents lose everything during the economic recession of 1980s, many are now reluctant to join the traditional corporate grinding mill, taking menial part-time jobs instead. The government is concerned, but many people hail it as a return to a happier era. People aren’t as rich, but the emphasis is moving away from corporate achievement, towards personal satisfaction.
