greatest of these

Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous;
Love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish;
It does not take offense, and is not resentful
Love takes no pleasure in other people's sin but delights in the truth;
it is always ready to excuse, to trust

... And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
(1 Corinthians 12:31-13:13)

Yesterday's catastrophe

headACHES, it's not your fault REALLY
I think I had IT* coming even before our meeting up
Just can't blink enough... and the brain freeze I got from that drink - OUCH x2
Then again having me wait for almost an hour, is NOT very considerate

Not much of a conversation we had, the only thing echoing thru the hollows of my head were the poundings reverberating between the frontal lobe and the back of my head. Not that I was not interested...

At least the evening was considerably saved when I got a good laugh from a extenuative phone call, providing me with some transitory relief - that's why I thanked you

Vernetta says

A certain celebrity was sharing some insights tonight and this was one of the many things that was mentioned ~ to give more Soul. And since your voice is all that they hear, your personality have to show... and to have personality, you need to have a real life. At least something you can draw real life references from, something that would show that you are interesting.

Somewhere in the mix you have to have some kinda personal glooming and hygiene, there's money in image too.

While she was at it she did mention that, in case you're interested too - the 7 mins toilet-run song she uses is Guns & Roses' November Rain... while over at Gold, it's Hotel California also 7 mins

Samsung yar

If the gal knew what I was referring to when I said wait for it.
So here's what I was told to wait for too... so if you're reading this wait for it.

Found!

The posterior superior temporal sulcus.

Scientists say they have found the part of the brain that predicts whether a person will be selfish or an altruist.

Heeheeheee, I can see future applications for a scan like that if ever they can be definite about the actuality of this experiment being feasible...

Sunburn

It's quite amazing that I got a sunburn, swimming in the pool yesterday. To think that the US and some parts of Europe is under the barrage of freak weather and Ice Storm wreaking some serious havoc all over... I'm still very much bewildered with the book I'm reading - Climate Crash by John D Cox, some rather interesting field of study.

More Deaths & Mayhem

Poland battered by deadly storm
Poland and the Czech Republic are the latest countries to have been hit by a storm that has swept northern Europe leaving at least 43 people dead.

In Germany, the 11 dead included an 18-month-old baby killed by a door that was ripped off its hinges in Munich, while a 73-year-old man died in Augsburg when a barn door fell on him.

Eleven people were killed in Britain, including a two-year-old boy who was crushed by a wall, and the managing director of Birmingham Airport, whose car was hit by a tree.

In the Netherlands, an 11-year-old boy was killed in the town of Riel when he was blown into a car, AFP reported.

As the storm moved east, a Polish crane operator in the southern town of Katowice was reported killed when his machinery collapsed, and another died in Zaborow, near Warsaw, when the roof of his house fell in.

Ice Age Theory

... triggered by rising Arctic temperatures. When ocean temperatures warmed to the point at which the Arctic become free of ice, a cascade of atmospheric effects - heightened evaporation and increased water vapor led to a surge of snowfall over nearby lands...

US harsh weather extends its grip (BBC)
The worst-hit areas were Missouri, where freezing rain left behind a 7.6cm (three inch) coating of ice, and Oklahoma, where tens of thousands were still without electricity by Wednesday evening.
US President George W Bush has declared states of emergency in both states.

Anticipation

Recent advent of climate calamity have been occurring at a rather fast and furious pace.

It's time I start packing, soon...

Been reading a book on Climate Crash by John D Cox.

Have there been much changes on your end? I do realise that it is not necessary you keep me updated...

The News headlines about climate calamity recently have been rather dire all across the world.

Hideaway

Antigua (pronounced An-tee'ga) and Barbuda are located in the middle of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean, roughly 17 degrees north of the equator.

Sometimes paradise can be found through tragedy - came across the name of the Antigua island from reports of a ferry collision in Italy.

"A passenger hydrofoil and a cargo ship have collided near the Sicilian port of Messina in Italy, killing at least four people and injuring dozens."

May the love hidden deep inside your heart find the love waiting in your dreams. May the laughter that you find in your tomorrow wipe away the pain you find in your yesterdays.

Sympathize

Loneliness

To appreciate loneliness
make provision for physical pain

Time will slow down
everything will turn cold

Yesterday was your future
all hope will seem too distant and bleak

The world will totally ignore you
does it really matter

Solitude, forlornness or reclusion
not even Absinthe the green fairy can help you

e Dentist

The dentist said scaling.
I thought nothing of it.
He said be brave.
I said yeah, just do it.
The instrument goes drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
For an hour.

An hour later my whole world is just the throbbing in my head.
Two hours later I'm moving like a zombie.
Three hours... I left all my things & bag in a room somewhere...
good thing I had an envelope addressed to me inside.
Five hours... I'm swallowing my rice in hot tofu soup.
Sunday... I'm swallowing my rice in hot tofu soup.
This evening... I'm swallowing my rice in hot tofu soup.

All this is just so I could get ready for some bling blings.
3 weeks later, it'll be back to the dentist again to see if I qualify for those over 2k bling blings.

In the meantime, I've gotten myself a new gadget to help maintain 'em pearly whites.

Ice Strom

Looked like a terrible ice storm, yet a rather magnificent photo opt.
These ice effects over a period of just 3 days seemed a little extreme though.

Then there's also the news of the Colorado avalanche | updated
A pair of snowploughs clear a road in Colorado after heavy snowfall (5 January)
Colorado has been hit by three snow storms in recent weeks

Sustained childhood

It's in the news - Treatment keeps girl child-sized
Along with hormone doses to limit her growth, Ashley's parents also opted for surgery to block breast growth and had her uterus and appendix removed.

The way this is headed... I'm in anticipation and expectancy for the day when it'll be revealed that highly paid Hollywood child actors would be using the same method to prolong their viability and earning potential.

When that happens, Harry Porter's director or for that matter any movie franchise that would span beyond trilogies - would not be having a headache, just because their child actors are growing up with maturing features, over the span of the years required to film their trilogy.

Then perhaps one day, a child's supposedly adolescent friend would turn to them and disclose that they are actually 80.

Picking up

Memories
but there are sentiments and feelings ~ ephemeral
still they dun change, these moments frozen
rather vivid

over a duration of absence how is it
to once again embrace
from where we left off

these thoughts are my own
as are yours
not a whisper or gasp

I avert my eyes
lest you find
the window
to my soul
a glimpse
like you have always
found comfort
in knowing

World United

Happy news for the New Year, beyond all the nature induced chaotic mayhem and terrorist acts of righteousness.

UN debut for $100 laptop for poor
One Laptop per Child—a potent learning tool created expressly for the world's poorest children living in its most remote environments.

The concept behind the design of the laptop is pretty well thought-out and impressive. Can't wait to get my paws on one, what with all that wind-up power and wireless networking capabilities, it'll be the best travelling companion ever.

btw - It's a two-watt laptop, so for an hour of charge one just need to work the crank for about six minutes.
Neat, heh.
